Distributism is an economic and political philosophy rooted in Agrarianism and traditional ways of life and was clearly recommended by Catholic social teaching from the late 19th and early 20th century as a response to the perceived injustices of industrial capitalism, and seeks to promote a more decentralized and community-based economy through widespread property ownership and the cooperative ownership and management of resources.
